Three Things to check out - September 8 - 14, 2008

1) Even though summer is over, there's still time to catch Shakespeare in an outdoor rustic setting at the the Will Geer Theatricum Botanicum in Topanga Canyon. The theatre's season runs through the end of September with three productions. Wouldn't it be great to see "As You Like It" under the oaks?

2) Put on your edgy outfits - or just wear all black - and make the art scene. Check out Bergamot Station in Santa Monica. This complex just across the street from the Solid Waste Facility houses over a dozen galleries and a cafe. Check out the September schedule, and go to a gallery opening. Sip wine and comment on the artwork. At Bergamot Station, there are shows by both established artists and new artists - so if you see something you really like, you might even be able to buy a real piece of art for yourself!

3) Break out the dirndls and leiderhosen! Go celebrate Oktoberfest at Alpine Village in Torrance!!! This is the largest and oldest Oktoberfest celebration in Southern California. Drink some beer. Eat some sausages. Dance a polka to an oom-pah-pah band. The festival runs September 12 through October 19th.
